Honor Life

Do not be deceived; God is not mocked, for whatever a man sows, that he will also reap.” (Galatians 6:7)

“For you created my inmost being; you knit me together in my mother’s womb. I praise you because I am fearfully and wonderfully made; your works are wonderful, I know that full well. My frame was not hidden from you when I was made in the secret place. When I was woven together in the depths of the earth, your eyes saw my unformed body. All the days ordained for me were written in your book before one of them came to be.” (Psalm 139:13-16 NIV)

Defending the Unborn

The Bible is unequivocally clear about God’s position on life.   To be obedient to the Word of God and obey Jesus Christ, we are called to honor life and defend the sanctity of life.

An unnatural and inhuman rejection of children by parents, a lack of care for the weakest and most helpless and defenseless, caused God to judge the inhabitants of Palestine. He sent in Israel to wipe them out because their “iniquity had reached its full measure” (Gen 15:16). However, child sacrifice was the primary reason God also destroyed Israel. The punishment on them was the same as they had inflicted on others. God was not showing partiality.

Because of this sin, God promised destruction on the nation because they refused to repent. Children are made in the image of God. They belong to Him – not to us, and we are entrusted with their care. Jesus said, when comparing the image on silver coins to Caesar, to give that which is Caesars to Caesar, but to God that which is God’s. The unborn children in the womb bear the image of their Maker.

They are God’s property and not ours to do with as we so choose. We are not allowed to murder those who made in the image of God. So Jesus said, “Even as you have done it to the least [and most helpless] of these, you have done it unto Me.” How we treat the weakest and most helpless among us is how we treat God.  By supporting abortion as a nation and voting to preserve it, we invite the judgment of God to our nation. If we do not respect the Lord’s children, how can we expect him to protect our own?   The Lord does not curse anyone, we curse ourselves and we prevent God from pouring out his blessings and protection upon us.

As a community of believers, we carry the burden of the Holy Spirit for the city of Butler and the region.  In the first three chapters of Revelation, Jesus tells those “who have ears let them hear what the Spirit is saying to the churches.”   We continue to hear the Holy Spirit grieved over the death of many unborn children. Abortion is demonic and carries a spirit of death for a nation.  The spirit of death acts as both a door and gatekeeper for other spirits and distracts the city, region and people of God from fulfilling their assignment.  It targets children and attaches itself to unborn still in the womb.

Current Statistics

The statistics on abortion are staggering.  Since 1973 there has been over 57 million recorded abortions and today there is an average of 1 abortion every 24 seconds.  In 2011, there were over 1 million recorded abortions in the U.S.  and over 42 million abortions worldwide.  These statistics are shocking as the spirit of death and destruction has become so deeply rooted into our society.  As followers of Christ, we have a biblical mandate to stand against abortion and  honor life.

Over 3,100 abortions in the U.S. a day.

Over 1.1 million abortions in the U.S. in 2014.

Over 6.6 million abortions by Planned Parenthood since 1970

Over 57 million abortions in America since 1973

Over 1.3 billion abortions worldwide since 1980
